Historical Perspective

Frédéric Bastiat: (June 29th, 1801 - Dec 24th, 1850) was a French classical liberal theorist, political economist, and member of the French assembly. Ludwig Von Mises: (Sept 29th, 1881 – Oct 10th, 1973) was an Austrian economist, historian, philosopher, author, and classical liberal who had a significant influence on the modern free-market libertarian movement and the Austrian School. Henry Hazlitt: (Nov 28th, 1894 – July 9th, 1993) was an American economist, philosopher, literary critic and journalist for such publications as The Wall Street Journal, The Nation, The American Mercury, Newsweek, and The New York Times. Friedrich Hayek (8 May 1899 – 23 March 1992) was an Austrian-born economist and philosopher best known for his defense of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism against socialist and collectivist thought.
